Do I need a Doctor's referral?

You do not require a Doctor's referral to schedule a massage therapy treatment. If you want to claim your massage treatment through your work benefits, you may require one. Please check your workplace extended health benefits plan to determine if a referral is required.

Does my provincial health insurance cover the cost of massage therapy?

Massage therapy treatment is not covered by provincial health insurance , however many private insurance companies do provide full or partial coverage under extended health care plans. Check with your employer to find out the details of your plan and if a doctor's referral is required

What information do I need to bring?

On your first visit, you will be asked to complete a confidential medical history which will help your therapist assess your condition and develop your treatment plan. After discussing your treatment options and answering your questions, your informed consent will be obtained. A doctor's referral, specialist's report, CT scan, MRI or other diagnostic reports relating to your condition can be helpful in determining your treatment plan. Bring a list of all prescription medications you are taking. If you have been in a car accident and are claiming through your auto insurance, bring your policy information, claim number, and the name and telephone number of your adjustor.

Do I have to remove all of my clothing?

You will be asked to remove only the clothing you feel comfortable removing. Many massage techniques can be provided through clothing and around any clothing you choose to leave on. You will be completely covered with a sheet and only the body area being treated will be uncovered. Your comfort level will be discussed prior to the massage therapy treatment.

Will there be homework?

Remedial exercises and hydrotherapy (heat or ice application) may be recommended to assist your recovery.

What types of therapies / treatments do you offer?

Other treatments offered are: pregnancy massage, sports injury massage, myofascial release techniques, trigger point release, lymphatic drainage, palliative care, nursing foot care.

How do I book an appointment?
